The Prayer Shawl Ministry of Yalesville United Methodist Church has been gathering to knit and crochet prayer shawls, lap blankets and baby blankets since the spring of 2009. A small group gathers at the Church once a month, but a number of talented congregation members knit and crochet at home. The group hopes that recipients have comfort in knowing that they have been in the prayers of the congregation. At the August 2010 gathering of the group, there were 23 prayer shawls and blankets available for distribution.
